'Don't bother ur fired': Employee fired over text for not showing up for a shift they weren't even scheduled for in this viral thread

Generally, most of us do our absolute best to perform as well as possible in our roles — carrying out our tasks with tireless consistency in the hopes of continuing to be able to afford food and rent. This consistency, and our efforts, are oft-overlooked; all too often, any goodwill we've accrued falls to the wayside as soon as we're late for one shift — or as soon as the company doesn't return an exponential increase in profit.

Being fired for one slip-up — or laid off because Elon Musk bought your company and didn't know what to do with it — is an eviscerating experience; so how must it feel to be fired for “no-showing” to a shift that you weren't even scheduled for?

That's the reality that this worker had to endure when their boss hit them with the “what u wearing” of employment on their day off. In an expertly worded text, the employer reached out to see whether or not the worker was going to show up for their not-shift. Of course, the employee wasn't planning on showing up for their not-shift because — well — it wasn't their shift.

In all truth, they could have responded a bit more professionally — but clearly, this struck a chord and was the final straw. The worker threatened to turn in their two-week notice and then was, promptly, fired on the spot.

Despite everything going on here — the greatest crime of this entire thread is the way that the employer texts; it's 2022 — we're not using multi-tap entry or T9 anymore — please, please, just type out ur words.
